Privacy. The concept of privacy has changed so much over the years since the start of social media. Shawn Mendes for example got his big break on social media, but now his privacy gets taken advantage of on a daily basis by paparazzi and sadly by us fans. This was displayed last night at the Wisconsin stop of Shawn’s World Tour.
Last night at the Wisconsin stop of The Shawn Mendes World Tour, Shawn headed to his tour bus after the show to find a fan had snuck into his tour bus while he was finishing his set. All these fans outside saw him run so fast out of there. They were all confused about what happened, but then they learned someone had snuck into his tour bus. The hashtag #RespectShawnsPrivacy started to trend all over Twitter. Fans everywhere joined together on Twitter to let Shawn know that they would never do something like that and that everyone deserves their own privacy.
Shawn comes through everyday to make sure us fans feel happy and loved by him. He does as many M&Gs as allowed in the venue and he works day in and day out to make sure his concerts are the best they can be for his fans because he knows they took time out of their lives to be there. Shawn is also one of the few people who even stops when fans see him on the street to take pictures with them.
So to repay him someone comes into his tour bus after he spent his whole day trying to make us happy and all he wants is to really take the time to realize all that we have done for him. Of course he ran if some strange person came into your house I think you would have run too.
Shawn trusts us fans to give him the space he needs and someone takes that trust to mean they can sneak into his tour bus. What is Shawn supposed to think? He comes into his tour bus and there is some stranger in his tour bus.
The reason security is getting increased for all the stars we love is because of stupid things like this. That is the reason Justin Bieber stopped M&Gs because 50+ fans snuck into the meet and greet area.
Why would anyone we follow want to continue meeting us if this is how we are going to treat them? Just keep that in mind. So to end my ranting, let’s all keep in mind that they are human too and that they deserve privacy just as much as we do maybe even more.
