Hey Oscar, So excited to be chatting with you again! How’ve you been?

Hi! Its wonderful to talk to you again! I am great – its been really busy the past few months but I feel great!

You sing of passion for a greener planet in your newly released summer pop anthem “We March”. How did the idea for this powerful song get created?

I have always been extremely interested in the ocean and pollution ever since I saw a program on TV called A Plastic Ocean a few years ago. It had a big effect on me and early this year I first heard about this Swedish girl striking from school to raise awareness about climate change. I guess I have been inspired ever since by Greta and the FridaysForFuture movement and so I decided to write a song about what I feel we need to do to help our planet and then also decided to give all the proceeds to environmental charities.

What has been your reaction to all the success the new single has gotten?

It has been amazing! The song has been shared all over the world and I have had such supportive messages from places as far as Japan, China, Germany, Italy, Australia, the USA and of course Sweden!  Playing in front of 60,000 people in Stockholm at the last climate strike was just incredible. I cant describe what it is like to perform in front of that many people all striking for our world.

How did you get involved in such a meaningful cause?

I have been supporting the FridaysForFuture team in Copenhagen, Denmark earlier this year and played at two of the strikes before the summer. I think that it is a cause that affects everyone and it is the most important and critical issue for my generation.

What do you want your music to do for your fans? What is your message?

I really want people to listen to the lyrics and I hope that it inspires them to take action to help save our world. As the song says “Why should my generation pay the price”?

Are there any projects in the works you can tell us about—how are you further promoting the impact of “We March”?

We will be releasing a new video soon from the Stockholm climate march with over 60,000 people – I hope that will get a lot of attention and continue to raise awareness and hopefully inspire people to action.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?

I firstly want to thank all my fans and all the people who have been supporting We March especially FridaysForFuture. And if I can tell the fans one thing: please keep streaming the song – every stream means more money going to those charities working to save our environment!! ?

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. 🙂

Thank you!
