How did you guys become a band?

We all applied to Isina individually and they put us together as a group.

Can you tell us a little something about each of you?

Devin is kind of the big brother of the group, he’s usually the one to point out the bad ideas and try to keep everyone focused.
Jaden is the youngest one (baby) and he’s always looking for fun new ways to stay in shape.
Dylan, is the funny, sarcastic one, and I’m charming with an edge.
Julian is the second youngest and is the quiet shy guy of the group.
Sean Is that’s Floridian guy and his favorite thing to do is prank the guys!!…..shhh

What is it like being in a band?

It’s awesome being in a band because no matter what happens, win or lose, you have a team to go through it with you.

How would you describe your musical style as a band?

We have a more pop R&B sound.

What artists/bands are you influenced by?

We are very heavily influenced by *NSYNC.

Whats the difference from your band and all bands that have come before you?

The difference between other boy bands is this, one direction went for a more rock vibe and made their act about their personalities and good music. We’re trying to re create the *NSYNC feel of dance and singing in a pop R&B fashion while still keeping the playfulness and the fun of One Direction.

What was it like being nominated for a Teen Choice Award? How does it feel that your fans spent hours voting for you?

It was an amazing feeling. We have been watching the teen choice awards for years so to be able to go was an honor, and to be nominated was a blessing, we’re so thankful. Honestly we’re very new and fresh and the fact that our fans worked so hard to get us there against all odds, it just shows how much Districters aren’t afraid of any challenge we or anybody else throw at them. They are the best fans we could ask for.

What was the experience like going to the Teen Choice Awards for the first time? Does your fanbase have a name?

The Teen Choice Awards were awesome we were sitting right behind Ruth B and Jordan Fisher, both of whom we like and it just felt great to get to be apart of the process. Our Fans are called Districters.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

We want our fans to feel like we are the boys next door like they can ask us anything and drop by and see what we’re up to. We want them to know that they’re seeing the real us always, because we honestly can’t help but be us.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans? What was the craziest fan encounter you guys have had?

Instagram is probably what we use the most. One of the craziest fan encounters was when a fan surprised one of us at the airport in Syracuse with birthday balloons. No clue how she found us…. but It was extremely nice and we were very appreciative.

Will there be an ep/album out soon?

Yes there is an EP in the works that should be coming out soon, stay tuned for more details.

Any shows coming up?

Yes we have some shows around the country in places like, Minnesota, Alabama, and even right here in Los Angeles. So come check us out.

Have you guys ever been starstrucked by another artist?

Well sure, as big fans of Justin Timberlake we were all in awe watching him give his speech for the decade award at the teen choice awards. It was unforgettable moment for us all.

You do a lot of cover songs as well. Whats the process of choosing a cover song for you to sing?

Some songs sound good in a studio and some songs sound great for a five part acapella arrangement, the process of choosing which songs to cover is just a matter of trying a bunch of songs and picking which one sounds the best sonically.

What was your favorite cover song to record? Whats your favorite song to perform live?

Our favorite cover song would have to be Hotline Bling and my favorite song to perform is definitely “Ain’t Got Money”.

Your music video for “Ain’t Got Money” has over 4 milion views. How did you guys react when you realized it passed 1 million views?

We were super excited to see how fast we hit 1 million views with that video. It made us feel very proud of our work.

Whats the process to make a “New District” music video? How long does it usually take?

Well the first video was on hover boards and in one location it took just about all day. The “Ain’t Got Money” music video however, took two full days with about 4 locations.

What’s an average day for “New District” look like?

An average day for us is like, wake up run a couple miles, eat breakfast. The guys tutor comes and they do school. Then rehearsal, maybe a recording session or interview and then we just rinse wash and repeat haha.

What goals have you guys set out for the band?

Our Goal is to leave a legacy for future boybands to be as influenced by us as we are by *NSYNC, and that’s a big goal, but we hope we can make it happen.

Where do you guys hope the band is in 5 years?

In 5 years I see us with major radio play, a sold out tour and a fan base worth being jealous of.

Last question, Do you guys have any advice for aspiring music artists?

Our advice for aspiring artists, is to never stop dreaming. Dreams can become realities if you work hard, are passionate about your art, and our open to all the possibilities and opportunities around you. Never be afraid to reach for the stars and you just might get your wish.
