Moon Fever Chats With TMI About Their New Single “Casanova”

Hey Guys!! So excited to be chatting with you. Your new single “Casanova” was released recently – How excited were you guys to get this song out into the world?

Mitch: Very excited! It was a blast to make and we were so ready to just share the music we have been creating with the world.

How did this song come about?

Mitch: The riff I wrote a few summers ago in my old studio off of skid row in downtown LA. I brought it to Cody once he moved out to LA from Texas, and we ran it in the studio with me playing guitar and Cody trying out ideas. He said “thought I was just a Casanova” and it was done!

Do you guys have any other new songs in the works you could tell us about?

Cody: We have several other songs recorded. One called “Shaking Off The Evil” seems to be the next contender, which will hopefully be coming out some time this summer. You can also check out “Fever” that we released a couple of months ago.

Is there anyone you are dying to collaborate with in the music industry?

Mitch: Mr. Hudson – he’s a prolific songwriter and producer who has worked with Kanye, Jay Z, Future and Vic Mensa, among others.

What is one artist or band that has greatly influenced your life?

Cody: So many have helped shaped me, hard to narrow it down…. Everything from Elvis to Tupac.

If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? (If helpful, it can be someone else’s quote: Are there any quotes you think of often or live your life by?)

Mitch: “We Sold Our Souls for Rock N Roll” – MOON FEVER!

What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?

Cody: Mitch and I have a lot of super weird inside jokes and sayings that make no sense, that we like to say. It often makes conversations awkward in public!

What is your guys’ current go-to song?

Mitch: Currently for me it’s “Twilight Zone” by Golden Earring

What do you guys like to do during your free time?

Cody: Polar opposites. Some days we are incredibly healthy and stay inside… And some days we’re partying like wild animals!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in music? What advice should they ignore?

Mitch: Listen to AD/DCs “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N’ Roll)” – that explains everything.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?

Cody: Drink coffee and go to the studio – that helps get me back on track.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans? Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourselves?

Mitch: We use them all – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok. We are using them now more than ever, since live shows are not a possibility yet.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

Cody – Hands on. If you love our music, we want to be friends!

What was the craziest fan encounter you guys have had?

Mitch: I’ll leave that up to your imagination.

Have you guys ever been starstruck by another artist?

Cody: I met Robert plant one time and couldn’t contain myself…

If your lives were a movie, what would be the title? Who would you want to play each of you?

Mitch: “Conversations: Ozzy Osbourne and Keith Richards Stuck In an Elevator”

What impact do you want to leave on the music world?

Cody: A good time. An escape from the hustle and bustle. Stream our music and when you hear us on the radio – turn it up loud!

What goals have you guys set out for the group?

Mitch: Our goals are to keep releasing singles and music videos over the summer leading up to an EP or LP later in the year. We hopefully will get back to playing shows in your town SOON.
