Hey Mandy! How are you?

I’m good, thank you! So excited to be answering some questions for Teen Music Insider

Do you have any fun plans for the summer?

I’ll be working a lot, but I’m also going to spend lots of time with family and friends. I want to plan a fun trip, but haven’t figured that out yet. I’m also doing some dj gigs, which is super fun!

What would be your dream vacation?

My dream vacation would be to visit Bora Bora and stay in the huts on the water. I’ve always wanted to do that. Tropical places are my absolute favorite!

Do you have any summer tips for your supporters?

Remember to wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, and have fun! 🙂

What’s your fave summer song at the moment?

This is a hard one to answer! There are a lot of good summer songs out right now, but I would have to say “Wild Thoughts” by Khaled & Rihanna. I love how they used the Santana guitar melody.

Let’s talk a little bit about your new EP “FROM THE HEART”, What was it like making the new EP?

It was an exciting process because I was creating music that I’m very passionate about. My EP has three songs, all of which are about some love experiences I’ve had. The EP was therapeutic to write, it felt good to process those experiences through music. I think having the lyrics be written about love is also very relatable- I hope people feel that way too! The music on the EP is pop and dance influenced- I wanted to bring these two worlds together to create my sound for it. I’m really proud of this EP and can’t wait for your readers to check it out.

Would you say this ep will be your biggest accomplishment in your music career so far?

Yes, absolutely. My EP was released through a major label, so that is a first for me as a solo artist and a total dream come true.

Did you have any moments while creating the ep that stood out to you?

Creating the song Make My Heart Go is a favorite memory of mine. I was in Amsterdam having a session with the producer Boaz, who is always an honor to work with. He showed me the Make My Heart Go hook and I instantly fell in love. I knew right away that I wanted to finish the song and write verses for it. It’s my favorite song off the EP and it seems like a lot of people feel the same.

Did any artists style influence you on this project?

Dance music influenced my EP for sure. I love the EDM world, but I also wanted my EP to be pop influenced. I like to say my EP is catchy pop songs over dance beats that make you want to move.

Can you spill any details about the new ep – Title of ep? How many songs? Etc.

I haven’t solidified the next EP yet, but I do know what my next single is going to be and I can’t wait to release it! I hope everyone will love it as much as I do.

Would you say this ep is the same style as your old music?

The new music I’m working on is in the same genre as my From The Heart EP, but a little more pop. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out more!

Does any of the songs off the ep come from personal experience?

Every song I write is something that I’m going through or feeling at the moment. It’s really important to me that my songs are honest and real and based on my experiences. I love a great beat, but I want the lyrics to always have meaning too.

Have you and your team picked the single for the new ep yet?

Well I know what my next single is going to be, but I’m not sure when I will have another EP ready. I am constantly in the studio writing and recording new music. I am always down to experiment with different sounds and try new things- so hopefully you’ll see another EP from me sometime in the near future.

Do you have a favorite song on the ep yet?

My favorite song off of my From The Heart EP is definitely “Make My Heart Go.” It’s an upbeat track about that feeling of infatuation you have when you first start crushing or dating someone. It’s a fun song that makes you feel good.

Will there be any music videos for these new songs?

Yes! All three of the songs have music videos. The lyric video for “They Always Come Back” features some beautiful shots of Los Angeles and has a really summery vibe. “Still In Love” has a 360 degree video that is haunting, eerie, and was so much fun to shoot. “Make My Heart Go” has an awesome dance video that I just released- go check it out!

Are you planning to go on tour to promote this Ep?

Yes. I’m definitely planning to tour. I can’t wait to get on stage and perform. It’s what I love to do most.

Now let’s talk about your dance channel, How did you get into dancing?

When I was two years old my mom knew she wanted to put me in dance class. She knew because when this old show Star Search was on TV, I used to get up and dance when there were dancers on screen. I’ve been dancing ever since then! Putting up dance tutorials on my YouTube channel is always something I’ll enjoy doing. It’s fun for me and I love inspiring people to get up and dance

What’s your fave dance song at the moment?

Get Low by Zedd featuring Liam Payne. Fun track, great production.
