Hey Maggie ! So excited to be chatting with you! You just released your debut album “Am I Drowning or Am I Just Learning How to Swim”! What has your reaction been to the success of the album so far?

Pretty grateful. I’ve never done this before, released an album. So it feels exhilarating. I hope it stands the test of time and remains something I’m both fond and proud of.

What does this album mean to you?

This album is a journal stretching across about 2 years or so of my life. when composing the songs , there were moments where I wasn’t exactly sure why I was saying what I was saying. I would lament or dig into this dark place only to find weeks later I was describing how I felt perfectly. Sometimes, my lyrics seem to know how I’m doing, before I do myself.

Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you the rest of the year?

In December I will be releasing the rest of my reimagined EP. Full of 3 songs off of the album given an orchestral facelift and one new song performed in the same manner. It allows the words to really shine and give some new depth to the tunes.

Will there be a music video for any of your new singles? If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video

Pretty much every song I write I can picture the visual universe of said words and sounds. This doesn’t mean however, we are capable at this point in my career to do so for every single song! BUT, I have a visualizer idea in my back pocket I would love to step into video production for, for a single dropping in the new year. The aesthetics surrounding this release in particular are fairly whacky, and I can’t wait to see how people respond.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

Oh my goodness gracious. My incredible family, my management team for kicking booty, my best friends and above all, God.
I would not be the person or artist I am today without any of them. I am so lucky.

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

Truth

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

I’m a lot taller in person, I promise.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

Social media is…well…essentially free PR? Except, you are unprotected by the safety net of other eyes filtering your words and schemes. You yourself are crafting how you wish to be perceived by the universe. This is of course the best situation in my opinion given the fact that I find it to be nearly impossible to be inauthentic. I wish this were the case for more humans engaging on these platforms, but then again that’s what it’s called isn’t it? A platform. People will do what they can to appear “higher up” or even better off on their profile.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

To have people listen to my music.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Thank you. Xx
