Hey Kellindo,:) You just released your debut single at the beginning of December! Can you tell us about what this song means to you?

It’s a basic summary of my present as I look to my past. In other words, I’m finding solace in the fact that I was different from most of my classmates in school and am proud of it. This song cerebrates the freedom to being you at all times.

What do you hope your supporters will think of your new song “When Flowers Could Dance”? & What do you hope they’ll get from hearing your new song?

I hope they find it refreshing and rewarding. I hope it makes them as happy as it makes me.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

When Flowers Could Dance is basically a play by play of my childhood. While I was busy being an adolescent locked in my room my mom would open the door wondering what the hell I was doing in there.

You also have more music coming out in 2019!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to next year?!?

They ain’t heard nothing yet 😉

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

Empowering and scary, all in one.

We heard there is going to be a music video for the song, can you tell us about the concept of the video 🙂

The first video is basically an unofficial video put together by Aaron Wilhelm of 80’s and 90’s public domain footage of kids in school and some very old cartoon footage.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

My parents for sure. They literally made it possible for me to do what I do. Also, my uncles Maceo and Melvin Parker for being such legends in music. And of course, Janelle Monae, Chuck Lightning and Nate Wonder for being there for me over the years.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want them to feel they can escape into my music. Or use my music as a tool to escape to wherever they want to escape to. In addition, I want them to feel empowered after listening to my music. That they aren’t just fans but powerful human beings with a voice and a very important place in this world.

Are you planning any shows to promote your new music?

Absolutely. Tune into kellindo.com and check out my upcoming shows. We will be announcing new dates at the top of the year.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I started my music career as a soprano in the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.
It was my first job ever from age 9-12.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

Alex Lifeson of Rush. He’s one of my influences on guitar whom I have never met. He’s also my birthday twin.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

People are obsessed with pictures. Whether its posing in them looking at them or taking pictures. And besides It’s an easy way to keep up with our favorite artists.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

To reward my mom for all she has done for me. Too many people take their mothers for granted.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I want to tell them that I love them! And that I want to thank them for all their support. And ask them to continue spreading the word on how to listen, stream, and download my new song, “When Flowers Could Dance.”

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview!

Thank you for having me 🙂
