Hey Katie! So excited to be chatting with you! You just released your new single “Carrousel”! How excited were you to get this single out into the world?

Very excited as it had been since the release of “Love Someone” back in March since I had a song come out.  There is always a lot of excitement and anticipation once a release date is selected. As of today the song has been out one month and I have a lot of excellent feedback.

What did you hope your supporters would think of the new song?

My supporters feedback has been fantastic they love the songs’ entrancing melody,  very chill vibe  but at the same time the solid tempo and vocals really keep them listening to the end!

Can you tell us the backstory of this single?

The song was written over 2 years ago in studio with songwriter-producer Nathan Levingston.  I perform it at all my live shows… my fans love this song!!  It was really some fans who encouraged me to release this for distribution!

You also have more projects coming out in 2020!!

I have taken this “lock down” time to focus on all my creative content including getting back to doing Vlogs/ InstagramTV etc. I have been doing a lot of songwriting and have a busy December schedule for in studio work!

Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you the rest of the year?!?

I will be releasing another crowd favorite around the Thanksgiving time frame. I also perform this song at many of my live shows! It is an artful cover of the Neil Young hit,” Heart of Gold”.  Shout out to my producer/composer for this project , Sean Crawford.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

For the most part I do have a creative say in my music, I have learned a lot about production and generally co-produce my music.  I really feel my strong talents are in songwriting/song interpretation during production. I am a co-writer on all my originals at this point in time. I enjoy the relationships I have with producers I work with and really want them to put their “signature” on my songs as well.  IT TAKES A TEAM

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

It is the best feeling to release each of my projects,  the creativity and expression that goes into each song and the accomplishments achieves fuel the fire for future projects.

Will there be a music video for your new single?

We chose not to do a music video for Carrousel but will be doing a music video for “Heart of Gold”

Can you tell us about the concept of the video for HOG?

I am currently working on concepts with my video producer for HOG and look to get this filmed in mid November.

What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?

It is a challenging industry.  Several times a year my manager and I sit down and go through the good and not so good.  I am constantly evaluating what I am doing well at and how can I improve and continue to grow my fan base.  I am an independent business owner and fortunately I bring in income from modeling and acting.  Just about every dollar I make rolls back into building my music presence.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

I have had several mentors along the way: Jamie O’Neal was a part of my early songwriting/releases. Kipp Williams my long time Nashville producer/Co songwriter and ALL ROUND very involved in my artist development.  Shout outs’ to my two favorite video producers T.C. Productions and Charlie C. of Castenado Productions. Last but not least my parents who have never wavered throughout this whole process.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

Music is a personal thing, the digital streaming age has brought more variety and content to fans.  There is a lot to choose from so it is my focus to stay true to myself and my music brand-style and over time I know my music will get heard and fans will engage with me. I love my fans and chat with many of them, they offer me a lot of support and I am very grateful.

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?

Encouragers, Super Nice and “Fan”mily !

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions 🙂
