I’m beyond excited this song was a long time in the making but “My Own Damn Paradise” is finally out!!
What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?
I’m hoping that they get hope, and feel like it is possible to create your own paradise. It’s ok to want a positive, safe place and environment.
Can you tell us the backstory of this song?
This song was a co write with the amazing DreeMon and The incredibly talented Richard Harris. This song came from the feeling and this beat and vibe that Richard had created. I wanted it to be sassy and whimsical and bright. I wanted to create a song that shared my feeling of wanting a positive and vibrant world! A place where you can be your truest self!
Is it from a real experience?
it’s from more of a feeling and an idea that we can build and create our own world our own Damn paradise. I’ve struggled off and on with image and body issues, depression as well as an eating disorder which has led to being insecure and feeling un-accepted. So I wanted to express that it’s ok to want a place where you feel like you are accepted and negativity and self doubt don’t exist. Everyone is beautiful and it’s magical and kind!
You also have more music coming out soon!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you this year?!?
All I can say is I have an amazing remix with a well known DJ and Producer coming out soon as well as the official music video for “My Own Damn Paradise” filmed and directed and edited by the crazy talented Jack Rain and my Next Single which will quickly follow I will be bringing some awesome 90s vibes and some fun new production elements to the 2021 music scene, I also might be working on something for the holidays this year.
Do you have a creative say in your music?
Yes I’m extremely involved in all aspects from writing to production and mixing and mastering, album art the whole process!
Did you help write all your new songs?
I only have one song that I didn’t write on so far, however I did inspire the song and give input on wording etc.
What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?
It is my dream coming true, it feels amazing!
Where did your love of music come from?
Oh man so many things lol for one My Mom sung me to sleep every night when I was little so I truly believe that’s where it started. But there’s a few artists that really got me hooked one was Mariah Carey “Hero” the first pop music cassette tape that I snuck into my house, and Celine Dion “The world will go on” which was the first pop music CD that my parents bought me and then oh man Jewel “Pieces of you” and jump forward a little No Doubt, Avril Lavigne and Alanis Morrisette, and then P!nk and Lisa Lobe. I was in love with creating a story in music that someone can relate to.
Will there be a music video for your new single?
Yes yes and yaaaaaaaasss there definitely is a music video coming!
If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video?
Well my followers have already caught on that it’s definitely a very Disney, Whimsical, animated, colorful vibe! And it’s my version of Alice in wonderland only it’s Kacey in her own Damn Paradise!
What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?
Pro’s it’s what I love, it makes me happy and I’m able to spread a positive message to people everywhere. Cons it can be expensive to get into music and sometimes you get haters that make you feel bad about body image etc. But there’s more Pros to Cons so it’s worth it for sure!!
Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?
There’s a number of people first and foremost My Mom may she Rest In Peace she was my biggest fan! My Dad who has always supported me and my dream, My Big sister who pushes me to let myself let go and be my truest self! My best friend Britt Hoglund she has constantly reminded me that I can make it all happen and stood by my side through some tough times and My co-writers Alex Tyler, DreeMon, Richard Harris, Collin Keller they have been truly amazing at helping me get the songs out of my head and recorded and produced. My Stylist WhitneyRenee who always helps me create what I imagine in my mind, she is also one of the most inspiring and creative people that I know. And of course my amazing band, I don’t know what I’d do without them! But truthfully my entire team is so important to me and are like family and most importantly my fanbase has helped me build my career in music and create a whimsical, safe space for my creativity to thrive!
What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?
They are RAW, Creative, Kind people not afraid to love and make noise to change things in the world! Most importantly they are Stronger Than Unbreakable, Brave souls!
How would you describe your fans?
My fans are beautiful and they are kind, unique unicorn, and penguin type personalities that want to feel accepted for who they are. They are colorful, glittery people that believe in romance and love living life to the fullest.
what’s three words you would use to describe your fans? Strong, unique, magical!
What do you want your message to be towards your fans?
That you can do whatever you put your mind! it’s ok to dream and want more in life! Kindness and love are important, and it’s ok to be considered “weird” or a “nerd” because that’s honestly the coolest thing you could be! You’re beautiful no matter what, shape size, color, gender, sexual identity!
What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?
Positivity, Hope, Strength, acceptance, love and that it’s ok to be different!
Are you planning any IG Live shows to promote your new music?
Nothing is on the books yet but there are a lot of plans and tentative events being worked on.
What is it like performing in front of your fans?
During Covid I have really missed performing live, it’s always a show and A fun environment! I always feel so alive after performing for my fans so it’s something I’m ready to get back to.
Are you excited to start performing your music live!?!
I’m extremely excited to get back to performing live and expanding shows to other states and countries soon!
What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?
That no matter what you are going through you are not alone!! I know that with quarantine it has been somewhat isolating but you are not alone!
What’s something your fans don’t know about you?
So I haven’t told many people this and it’s kind of random but I have a long time dream of some day playing a vampire On tv or in a movie.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
That’s tough wow one word I would say “Purpose” Because creativity and positivity and strength in music are my purpose. I truly believe that is my true purpose in life!
What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?
To not be shy haha within reason I love meeting fans, and taking selfie’s with them. Hearing their stories and how they discovered my music.

A couple P!nk, Avril Lavigne, Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, Rachel Platten, Ken Caillat, Ryan Tedder, SIA, Jewel, Halsey, Kesha, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor swift, Selena Gomez, Lily Allen, Katy Perry.
What’s your current go-to song?
The last couple weeks I’ve had a very different assortment of music that I’ve been listening to. But my mood lately is “Cruisin” by Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow and “Broken Glass” Rachel Platten and “My Attic” P!nk and “Goodbye Alice in wonderland” Jewel
Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?
It helps you reach a larger amount of people, and stay connected with them and to be able to learn and grow with them as you grow as an artist. You also create industry connections and build relationships on social media as well which is extremely important.
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
There’s a lot but my biggest short term is to get my music in tv and film, and to get back to having live concerts. My Long term goals are to release my full Album and to open for a major artist such as Lady Gaga, or Halsey, and to get to go on Tour worldwide, Grammy awards, and developing a non profit for families of those who either have cancer or have died from cancer.
