How did you get started in the music business?
I grew up in a music household. Picking up the guitar was the door opener for me.. I wanted to be like Waylon, Merle, Johnny, Brooks and Dunn.. and the other guys that I grew up listening to. They inspired me and my family supports my music, they are all a part of this journey.
What inspired you to start releasing your own music?
Why Not? I mean that is why we create so we can make that connection with the public. It was necessary because our fans were asking us to make music they could listen to.
How would you describe your musical style as an artist?
The band and I try to stay in the boundaries and honor the classic country style. I mean I like so many of the new artists, but I try to keep it country 100%.
What artists do you look up to right now?
Luke Combs, Brett Young and all of the classic country artists that will never go away.
The music video for your latest single “Heart’s Desire” was just released and looks like it was a lot of fun to make. Any fun moments while on set?
We had a blast making that video. The young lady Brittney, was hilarious, we had one scene where she opens the door and she opened the door and then slammed it in my face ha! I am pretty comfortable in front of the camera the key is making everyone else comfortable.
How did the idea for the music video come about?
I wanted a video that told the storyline of boy wanting to take girl out and she plays hard to get… but I also wanted to be clever and find a way to work the song recording and studio into the project so my fans could feel like they were truly along for the ride of the single and making the video.
Can you tell us more about “Heart’s Desire” and how did the idea for the song came about?
I was trying to talk with a girl and she didn’t want to commit so I started writing the song and the rest is history. It was personal.
Are there any other fun projects in the works you can tell us about?
Well yes, I can. So proud we just launched a youtube series called #JKBackstagepass. We are working with a content development company and making some pretty cool behind the scenes videos for my supporters and fans.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
Just the way it is right now.. man we are so blessed our fans are amazing. They have supported us since 2014 and they truly make it possible for us to continue this journey. They are the reason we keep on making music and touring.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years in your career and personal life?
On the road touring!! Hopefully a beautiful and lovely woman in tow and a few songs that I wrote that will really answer this question.
