So Jake, you started off your career as a social media influencer what led you start social media in the first place?
I began social media my freshman year of High School. I was bullied a lot and used social media to escape people that were mean to me. I was shocked to see how many people were like me which motivated me to keep posting.
Did you ever think your social media presence would grow as fast as it did?
Not in a million years did I think my social media would grow as fast as it did. I feel like each person connects to my videos in a different way which makes me feel special. I’m extremely happy with all the support that i’ve gotten throughout the years and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.
When did you realize that this could become a career for you?
I realized that this could become a career for me not too long ago. I recently visited TikTok HQ, and when they were telling me how fast i’ve grown in the course of a few months I was in complete shock.
What are your thoughts on the growth of social media?
Growing on social media is quite difficult. What I learned is that you have to find a niche that hasn’t been done yet. Once you find that niche, you have to keep going at it until you create a brand/name for yourself. If you are looking to grow on social media, anything is possible, just work hard and chase your dreams.
Are you planning to branch out into acting or singing?
Currently, I am not looking to branch out into acting or singing. Maybe one day I will fall down that path, but currently I am having fun just making funny videos for my supporters.
Are you planning to go on your own tour anytime soon?
A dream of mine is to be able to go on tour. Maybe one day I will go on a tour or a brand will contact me to go with them, but until then, I will just continue working hard.
What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?
The craziest fan encounter that I had was actually my first time meeting a fan. It was after school and I was at my local grocery store with my friends, this girl came up to me and asked for a photo with me. After the photo she started crying and I was full of joy and happiness to see how much of an impact i’ve made on her. She then proceeded to lay on the floor and cry, I was really confused but happy at the same time.
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?
I use Instagram to stay connected to my supporters, I feel as it is the easiest way to contact them, whether it be through dms or comments I love talking to them.
What’s the best thing that’s come out of this career so far?
The best thing that has come out of this career so far is the amount of people i’ve met. I’ve met so many amazing people that I would of never known without starting social media. I’ve made some friends that I will be talking to for the rest of my life.
What’s the biggest struggle as a social media star?
The biggest struggle is staying active. Being a teen you have a lot of homework to do and balancing work and school life could be difficult but I manage to stay active, and still get good grades.
Whats an average day for you look like?
An average day for me is waking up early in the morning and going to work. After work I get home take a nap and do some homework. After my homework I spend about 4 hours making videos and responding to comments. I go to bed pretty early because I have to repeat this schedule every day.
Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?
I would love to tell my supporters that whenever they are going through something and need somebody to talk, I am always here for them. I’m one click away and will always respond as quickly as I can, and if they ever see me in public, don’t be afraid to say hi. I am not scary and love meeting you guys!
