Hey Jackson! So excited to be chatting with you again! You just released your second single “Reflection” & it’s awesome! What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?

Hey! It’s so nice to be chatting with you too again so soon! “Reflection” is streaming on all platforms. I really hope my supporters enjoy hearing a different side of me. This song is a lot different than my first single “I’m Yours,” both lyrically and the production value. “Reflection” is one of my deeper songs, as far as concepts go. I want to show my fans that I can also make more mature music.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

Yes! “Reflection” is straight from the heart. I feel like quarantine has given us all time to really think and reflect upon our lives and “Reflection” represents that. It is a self reflection song. Throughout the track, I ask myself questions about my life and my career such as… Am I living too fast? Maybe too slow? What am I doing this for? It was really like a therapy session with myself, while in quarantine.

You also have more music coming out in 2020!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you the rest of the year?!?

I have more music coming soon that I’m excited to put it out into the world. I’m currently working on my E.P., “Social Isolation.” All of the songs on the EP were written and recorded during quarantine, hence the name. The term “Social Isolation” has double meanings. It describes the physical quarantine, because of the pandemic and it also references moments in my life when I have felt socially isolated in relationships.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

I have all of the creative say/freedom in my music. I produce the beats, write the lyrics, sing it, and engineer/record it all in my home studio. There are really any rules or restrictions. I love being able to be my own boss and music is my little escape, where I can really have complete artistic control. I love being an independent artist.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

I’m just so happy that I get to share my passion for music with my followers. I’m also stoked that I get to do it at my own pace, so my supporters can see my journey as an artist who is developing and growing organically.

Will there be a music video for your new single? If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video 🙂

Definitely! I don’t want to give too much away, but I can say that it was shot in a location that is the complete opposite of where we shot “I’m Yours.” I am by myself in a desolate area reflecting on my journey. The official music video will be out in late August.

What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?

Some pros are that I love making music and it fulfills me emotionally. It is another way to engage my supporters and get feedback as I develop. In addition, I am getting a lot of amazing opportunities. They just played my song on Power 98.5 FM and added it to their top 40 playlist. A con is that as an independent artist, I don’t have the machinery of a major label doing any of the work for me.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

Shoutout to my mom for sure. If it wasn’t for her support and extremely hard work, I would not be able to get my music out into the world.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

My “community” is so incredibly supportive of everything I do. I really feel genuine love and support from them. I may not have a million followers, but I know I have loyal and engaged followers which is really important to me. Without their support, I wouldn’t be able to succeed at the things I love to do like acting and music. I enjoy engaging with them and try to respond as much as I can.

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?

BEST. PEOPLE. EVER! To all my supporters … I love you guys and I see all of your positive messages. TYSM! You’re the best!!!

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want them to be inspired to follow their dreams and to know that, if I can do it, then they can do it too. Everyone has to start somewhere. The most important thing is that you START and that you grow and develop on your journey. I also want to be very relatable to my supporters with both my music and my acting.

Are you planning any IG Live shows to promote your new music?

That’s a great idea!! I didn’t have any plans to do that at the moment, but I will definitely consider it!

What is it like performing in front of your fans? Are you excited to start performing your own music live!?!

I actually have not done a live performance yet! I would like to perform my music live in the future, but I didn’t announce or release my first song, “I’m Yours” until after quarantine started. I have been working on my music silently for the past year and quarantine seemed like a good time to share it with the world.

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

I want them to know that they can do anything they set their mind to and I deeply appreciate their love and support.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

Good question! People may not know that I can juggle! LOL.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

GROWTH. They have watched me grow first hand through my social media and also helped me learn and grow.

With an already massive fanbase your fans must they have a name for themselves. What do your fans call themselves? And how did that fanbase name catch on?

OMG!! LOL. I actually don’t think they have a name for themselves. But I think now they definitely need one!!! How about the Jacksonators? Maybe I should do a poll and my supporters can select one.

Many of your supporters are starstruck when they meet you. Have you ever been starstruck?

Who hasn’t been starstruck!! I was freaking out when I met Will Smith at a movie premeire. He was so nice and humble and I even got a picture with him!! I also met Rob Machado at Ocean Heros Bootcamp in Vancouver, Canada and I was so stoked.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

I want them to come up to me and say hi!!! I love meeting you guys and I promise I don’t bite. Please come talk to me!!!

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

My number one idol in the music business is my favorite Music Producer Nick Mira. I’m dying to meet him and go to the Internet Money House. Nick Mira is so incredibly talented and I would love the opportunity to collaborate with him some day.

What’s your current go-to song?

My go-to song right now is “Bad Energy” by Juice WRLD. But then again, I love every song on his new album and he is by far my favorite artist. RIP Juice WRLD.

Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists like yourself?

It is so important because it is a place where we can be creative, express ourselves, and share our music with others. It is a huge part of the evolving music industry, especially for Independent Artists. It really gives us a platform to get our music out there that just was not available to young artists a decade ago.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

I really want to keep pushing myself musically and hopefully get back to production of Season 3 of Sydney to the Max soon. I really would like to do a feature film in the near future as well.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I love you guys so much and I can’t thank you enough for your kindness and support!! It really means a lot to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview!

Of course. It is always a pleasure. Thank you so much for chatting with me as well!!!
