Gabriella Pasqua Chats With TMI About Her New Single “Would You Stay”

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

Would You Stay is about questioning whether someone in your life is good for you and if they are willing to make the effort to keep their place in your life.  The song is based on a real relationship I had and the way I truly felt at the time.

You also have more projects coming out in 2021!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you the rest of the year?!?

The next two songs to come out are polar opposites.  It is going to be very exciting to see how that plays out.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

I write all of my songs and their melodies by myself.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

Very exciting! I worked hard to put it all together and I’m excited for everyone to finally hear it.

Will there be a music video for your new single? If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video 🙂

I’m not sure yet about a music video for this song but I plan on putting a lyric video out so watch out for that!

What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?

The pros of pursuing my music career are that I get to be creative and have a good time with my music as well as sharing my personal experiences and thoughts that others can relate to.  The cons are that you never know what kind of response you will get from the audience but everyone will have different opinions, which they are entitled to, so that doesn’t necessarily bother me.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

I’d like to thank my parents.  From day one they pushed me to work hard and helped me understand the importance of loving what you do.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

I think that the people who enjoy my writing like it because they can relate to my songs and they can picture something in their own lives when they listen to the music.  I personally think a lot of today’s music is missing that relatability.

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?

The people that follow along with what I post are very kind-hearted, bright, and supportive.  For that I am extremely grateful!

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want my listeners to know that everything I write is based on basic human emotion and experience.  If they can relate to the anger, joy, or uncertainty in my music, I hope they realize these feelings are valid.

Are you planning any IG Live shows to promote your new music?

I have done many live streams on Instagram.  I think it’s a great way to connect with my listeners and I’m sure there will be more in the future.

What is it like performing in front of your fans? Are you excited to start performing your own music live!?!

Performing in front of people is something I have always loved doing.  I love interacting with my supporters.  Now that I will be performing my own music, the experience should be that much more authentic.

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

For me, taking in emotion and realizing that it is normal to feel the way you feel is very important.  I hope that I can reflect this message in my music by putting my own feelings out there for people to connect with.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I didn’t expect to write my own material when I started with music.  I didn’t have any intentions on writing, but when I was thirteen I tried it out and I love it!

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Confidence!

What do your fans call themselves? And How did that fanbase name catch on?

I currently have just a small group of what I call my supporters and they are incredible people that give me an immense amount of support that keeps me going on this adventure.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

They can talk to me anytime if they see me in public or on social media.  I am always open to meeting new people and getting to know my supporters.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

I would love to meet Sigrid.  She is an amazing singer/songwriter and I absolutely admire her style.  Her writing is simplistic but tells a story in an intricately beautiful way.

What’s your current go-to song?

False Confidence by Noah Kahan!  It is fun to listen to and the lyrics are amazing!

Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists like yourself?

Teens are constantly using social media.  It is 100% the best way to get to know people, promote your work, and hear what listeners have to say about it.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

My biggest goal is to have a fulfilling career creating and releasing original music.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Just to say thank you to the new people who are supporting me and thank you to the people who have been on this ride since day one.  I can never truly express how thankful I am to my friends and family for all of their love and support.
