Following on the heels of her February 2020 release, “Grown,” Liv Hanna returns to the scene with the hauntingly dreamy, “New You.” Produced by Guy Eckstine and Joe Lindsay with video directed by Evan Aspinwall, “New You” captures Hanna in a reflective mood, lyrically delving into her innermost thoughts on self, personal relationships, and the outward façade we wear on a daily basis. Offset by classical piano, orchestral strings, and buoyed by thick percussive bass drum rhythms, Hanna vocally soars above the track seemingly having an out of body experience. As memories fade and emotions wane, Hanna acknowledges she will rise from the ashes, confident, strong, with a bright future on the horizon.

How does it feel to have your latest single and video, New You” released?

I’m so excited as this project has been in the works for a while. With the pandemic it was a bit harder to get together and work but we did it!

Can you tell us how the concept for the video came about?

Well it came about as a reflection of my old self compared with my new self. This year was a year of self realization and growth for all of us I think. The video illustrates my evolution as I learn to come into my own.

How do you balance your professional career and private life?

It’s really hard to balance my professional career and private life but by choosing to do remote school, I have more time for my career.

If you could share the stage with any artist who would it be and why?

I think she would have to be Billie Eilish because she’s my idol. No one else is like her and she’s so confident in who she is and what she does.
