So Carter, you started off your career as a social media influencer what was the reason that made you start social media in the first place?
I saw my friends make a vine at school one day, and when I came back home I decided to make my own Vine account. I started posting random videos when I was bored at home, and then my journey as a Viner began.
Did you ever think your social media presence would grow as fast as it did?
No I didn’t. It all happened so fast. It was very overwhelming.
When did you realize that this could become a career for you?
When brands started contacting me and offering me deals.
What are your thoughts on the growth of social media?
It’s constantly changing day after day.. it’s really amazing.
How would you describe your musical style?
I would say its a mix of EDM, trap, and dubstep
Are there any artists that have influenced you?
Diplo and Skrillex are by far my favorite DJ’s.
Can we expect any new music soon? If so can you spill some details about them?
Yes. I’m working on a secret project right now. It’s too soon to say anything, but I have some crazy things lined up. I will be sharing updates soon so stay tuned.
Even though you are leaning towards DJ’ng, do you think you’ll still keep up your social media presence?
Of course! I will definitely be using all of my social media every single day. That’s how I connect with my followers.
You were apart of the og Magcon, as well as, the new magcon for a few stops. Can you tell us a little bit about what that experience was like? And what’s it like to have friends like Cameron Dallas, Taylor Caniff, Shawn Mendes, etc.
It was such a fun and amazing experience. It’s a very rare opportunity for someone to go through what we all went through. Just getting to travel around the country with my friends, and meeting my fans..It was truly a phenomenal and rewarding experience. Although it was very exhausting, I loved being able to meet my fans and make them smile; it made it all worth it.
Are you planning to go on your own tour anytime soon?
Yes! Hopefully in Summer 2017.
What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?
One time, after a Magcon event, my friend Cameron Dallas left the hotel room door propped open when he left. Then, I remember sensing there was someone watching me.When I opened my eyes, I saw the back of someone’s head. I then got out of bed to look in the hallway but I didn’t see anyone… Later that day on Twitter I saw a picture of me sleeping.
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?
What’s the best thing that’s come out of this career so far?
Meeting a lot of new people and being able to travel the country and all around world. Also, having the ability to influence others and make a difference.
What’s the biggest struggle as a social media star turning into a DJ/Producer?
As an upcoming artist, I think the biggest struggle is to be accepted and recognized by the industry’s biggest names.. but I think that if I work hard on my music and produce something unique and authentic, it should not be that difficult, especially if I have the support of my loyal fans!
Whats an average day for “Carter Reynolds” look like?
Wake up, get ready for the day, eat out, do some errands, read emails, live broadcast, play video games, find new music on my laptop, go to studio, watch youtube videos, go out at and party or stay in and watch movies
Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?
