Hey Liddy – Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I’m a 20 year old singer/songwriter, and I started getting involved in music around the time I was 7. From there, I did a lot of musical theater and covers of pop songs, but I really came into my own when I started learning how to play guitar and write songs when I was 13. It’s all kinda snowballed from there and now I’m still singing the songs I write!

You started your music career at a very young age, what inspired you to pursue music?

I was inspired to sing at my school’s talent show after I learned from my grandmother I was related to Pochahontas, therefore I wanted to sing her song from the Disney movie (Colors of the Wind). From there, I started taking vocal lessons and acting in musicals.

How would you describe your musical style?

I feel like my style is influenced by country music as well as lyrical pop & indie alternative artists.

What artists do you look up to right now?

I love music by John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Jon Bellion, Maren Morris, Maggie Rogers and Fleetwood Mac.

Can you tell us about your powerful new single “Shot Down (Stand Up)”? What was the inspiration?

I wrote this after the incident in Parkland happened last February, and I knew that I wanted to write something that was uplifting without being too preachy. This song was created once I found out that the city of Parkland asked me to perform at their Wear Orange event (for gun violence awareness). I knew I had to write something for what had occurred.

Can we expect any more new original music soon?

Yes! I currently plan to release another EP by summertime, and am very excited to release some more content very soon 🙂

Are their any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

I’m writing like crazy, so we’re gonna go into the studio to record some demos soon for the next next EP! The one coming out this summer has already been decided on, but I’m excited for all of the content I’m putting out

You are gaining a lot of recognition from Radio Disney! Can you tell us what it’s like having your own music played on such a big platform?

It’s incredible to have such a fantastic organization believe in your music enough to play it on their stations, Radio Disney & Radio Disney Country have truly been so supportive of my career thus far and I can’t wait to see what happens with them in the future!
