Hey Chelsie! So excited to be chatting with you!

Hi! Thanks for your time & excited to be chatting with you also!

What inspired you to pursue modeling?

I was 15, without a clue what kind of career I wanted to pursue, when my mother mentioned modeling because people would tell me I was photogenic. At first, I was very hesitant just because I was afraid of being judged about my photos due to getting bullied bad in school. She pushed me to get over my fear and go to a open call in Lafayette,La. I was picked in the top 5 out of 150 women. That is when I got the opportunity to go through modeling training and also got the opportunity to walk on the run way. They put together my first modeling shoot and introduced me to a few agents. It was a amazing experience, however, it did not work out for me with this company.

Do you have any rituals before a big shoot?

I exfoliate my skin.

I wax my eyebrows.

I condition my hair.

I do a workout.

I make sure to eat healthy.

Are there any modeling projects in the works you can tell us about?

At the moment, I’ve been working on building my portfolio, getting better images, images that will possibly get agents to represent me some day. I take photos every chance I get between everyday life. I recently was helped by my manager with getting my website up – Comp card- one sheet and structure.

What are your friends and parents thoughts on your career in modeling?

My friends and parents have always shown so much support towards my passion of being a model. I believe it is inspiring to them to watch me work to fulfill my dreams no matter what obstacles get in my way. I am super thankful for them.

What goals have you set out for yourself  in your career?

I’d like to improve my look, I feel like this is probably the most difficult part for some models , while others learn early on to embrace their look.

I’m going to improve my limitations and circumstances. Things like availability of transportation, my health, my relationship, my living situation, my job or education.

I’m going to build my portfolio more. I’m going learn new poses. Another goal would be to get my name and face out there in the world.

Another goal for me would be to start getting paid eventually for the modeling work I do. I know that will take some time and I’m fully aware of that as well.

Overall, how has this whole modeling career experience been for you so far?

My modeling career has been very interesting. I love every second of being a model. It helps me gain more confidence in myself for sure. It has helped me build structure. My manager has helped me more than any one has ever helped me as far as getting the things I need done to be noticed by a modeling agency in the future.

What’s your favorite part about being a model?

I love that I can set a positive impact for people all over the world some day, by being a public figure. I’d love to be a inspiration for people. I wouldn’t be able to smile so big, laugh so hard, and feel so absolutely in love with this thing called life had I not been cut so deeply over the years. I wouldn’t be able to appreciate the life I’ve built and the work I get to do had I not strived so hard to get things off of the ground. Had I not failed miserably more times than I can count, I wouldn’t be so full and complete with myself, and comfortable with who the true Chelsie Deville really is, had I not gotten so disconnected in the first place.

Do you have any advice for anyone trying to make it as a model?

My advice would be to build yourself up first. Do as many photoshoots as you can with different photographers, with different styles. Make sure you have all the content you need to be represented. Create a website- create a one sheet- create a comp card – create a foundation so when you try to start your career it won’t be so difficult to get started. Some of things I did not know I needed until my manager told me recently when I met her. If I would have known these things 5 years ago. It would have helped me tremendously

Do you have any other talents other than modeling?

When I was younger I used to race dirt bikes in different states. I had a strong passion for that for most of my life as a kid. I also picked up on painting not to long ago, I love painting, it’s also been something that I’ve been enjoying doing on my own time.

Do you have any other passions other than modeling?

Modeling is actually my main passion but I’ve also always wanted to be a doctor. When I was 17 years old, I graduated high school because I was home schooled and I went straight to college for Nurse and physical therapy tech.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?

I’d just like to tell them that no matter where your dream takes you in life, never forget where you came from and who you are as a person. That’s very important, always stay humble no matter how many big things happen to you because they can be taken in a second. Always enjoy life to fullest and never let anyone tell  you that you are not capable of doing something. Remember who you are and what your worth. I love to see everyone succeed in life & I love every single one of my fans.

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview!

Thank you for your time! I really appreciate it.
