Hey Braeden! So excited to be chatting with you 🙂 What led you to start posting on TikTok?
I started Tiktok as a joke while living in Long Island, New York. I lived there for only 1 winter but had recently moved and knew nobody. I guess you could say boredom drew me to the app.
What can people find on your account?
My account is a joke. I post daily comedy videos. Whether that be funny facts, dark jokes with my friends/family, or even jokes that take a minute to get through.
Are there any TikTokers that you look up to right now?
I have many creator friends who I frequently communicate with. In a way we all look up to each other. When we need a comment on a video, someone helps out. If we need help with content ideas, they are there to lend a hand.
Have you ever been starstruck by anyone you’ve met so far in the social media world?
I grew up in a Hollywood house, both my parents are actors/models so I’ve been on movie sets my whole life. Because of this I’ve had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people. So to answer your question, I can’t say I’ve met anyone that “starstruck” me in the Tiktok world, but there are quite a few awesome creators out there!
What goals have you set out for yourself in your career and in your personal life?
I want to follow in my parents footsteps and even become more famous than them. I’ve told them this, and they fully support my dreams. Growing on social media is simply one of many means to accomplishing that. I’ve had the pleasure of working on 4 movies so far, with more hopefully coming down the line. A big benchmark in any world though is verification. It shows that you are important enough for the platform to recognize you personally so getting my blue checkmark on TikTok was huge.
What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment in your career so far?
I’m a very upbeat person, I’m optimistic, happy, and altogether just enjoying life. I know lots of people who struggle with social media fame; the pressure of posting, the hateful comments, everything is so draining, emotionally and physically. I tend to not let any of it bother me. I have an amazing fanbase that supports me and defends me with whatever I make. I’m an advocate of free speech, as I am allowed to post what I deem funny, others are allowed to disagree. I welcome it all.
Overall, how has this whole TikTok career experience been for you?
Amazing! I am blessed to have the opportunity to post fun videos and get paid. I couldn’t ask for a better gig.
Do you have any advice for anyone trying to make it as a TikToker?
Have fun with it. Don’t be afraid to post. Here’s the way I look at it: if your video doesn’t do well, its not embarrassing because NOBODY saw it. If it DOES do well, you might just be able to make something out of it. There’s no downside!
You have also created a huge social media presence for yourself. Why do you think social media is so important for artists today?
This is a double-edged sword. On one hand it can help ones career elsewhere greatly. On the other social media can be a dangerous tool. People use it to manipulate, bully, and antagonize others. Stay safe and stay smart.
How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
I want them to be able to walk up to me on the street and say “Hey! I love your videos! Keep up the good work!” I have gotten so many comments from people saying my videos have pulled them out of a dark place in their lives simply because they could see I was happy doing what I was doing. I want my fans to be able to talk to me.
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
Personally I would say I reply to most to people on Instagram. Commenting on my recent posts is a great way to get my attention. Whenever I post on tiktok I close the app for a few hours. I’ll open it back up the next day and reply to comments then but instagram is the best way to reach me. Snapchat however is the best way to stay connected with what I’m doing. I post updates there constantly.
What is your favorite social media platform? and Why?
While I love TikTok and IG. I really love snapchat. I use it more than iMessage if you can believe it. It’s just easier to connect with friends.
Does your fan base have a name?
I wouldn’t say we have a name yet but anything I do I attribute to my initials: BS.
What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?
At playlist last year when I was still under 1 million followers, a girl, about 18-19 asked me to sign her belly. It was a very interesting experience I will say.
Do you plan on venturing into acting or singing?
That’s the end goal. I’ve played piano for over a decade now and I love singing. And I guess I jumped the gun by speaking about the acting thing earlier haha.
Do you have any projects in the works you can tell us about?
Yea! Currently I have a book I’ve written which is an introductory guide to politics. I wrote a sarcastic dictionary that goes into all the important terminology. It’s called “The BS Guide to Politics, Understanding Current Events Through Sarcasm.” It comes out first quarter of 2021! I also have a few acting projects in the works but I can’t discuss those yet.
If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? (If helpful, it can be someone else’s quote: Are there any quotes you think of often or live your life by?)
Do not apologize for speaking your mind. Do not change your opinion because it offended someone else.
What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?
I play wayyyy too many video games. Its a problem haha.
What is your current go-to song?
That’s hard because it’s always changing. I really like My Type by Saint Motel.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?
I workout every day. I am a huge advocate for both mental and physical health. It’s how I live almost stress-free. Just getting out of the house, breathing fresh air, and experiencing life is crucial to a persons day-to-day.
Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?
Live your life, speak your mind, don’t be afraid when someone disagrees with you. Never change your opinion to please others. Most importantly, have fun with your life and be a good person! You’ve got nothing to lose.
