Hey Ava! Can you tell us what you’ve been up to recently?

Sure, I am currently on hiatus after filming season 2 of Sydney to the Max. We are on hold right now to go back for season 3 which was due to start filming March 19th, due to the coronavirus crisis. We are living in crazy times, but trying to be productive and continue learning remotely.

You just released your new single “Eventually”! Can you tell us what the song is about?

Yes, I did and I am so excited about it. Eventually was actually the 1st song I ever wrote in collaboration with Peter Zizzo and Francis Galluccio. I wrote it when I was 12 years old and I had a very strong connection with a boy. My parents then told me that I was too young to date, so it’s ok to like someone and dream about the future with them but that I should wait till I am 16 to start dating. That’s where my lyric about 2023 comes in, when I’m 16. They taught that it’s important to be friends first and build a strong foundation, and if the feelings are still there, then we know that they’re real, and then you can act on them, not now but “eventually”.

How did you come up with the concept of this song?

I came up with the concept because I liked someone so much and I wanted to call him my boyfriend, but my parents taught me to be patient and to see if the feelings were still there in the future, in 2023 when I am 16 and they helped me realized that I am very young, so I am not going to date yet, but I will “eventually”, if the same feelings are still there. If not, then I saved myself from a worse heartbreak.

Can you spill any details on release plans for any other new songs?!?

Sure, I was going to collaborate with my songwriters at the end of march to write a couple of songs, but it may be a little longer now due to my self quarantine before I go to a studio to record a new song. But I have a few ideas and have been writing my thoughts and feelings about what I want to write about next.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

Yes, absolutely, I always want to thank my family and my team

What do you want your fans to take away from your new song?

I want my fans to take away the concept of being patient with your relationships, so that you can make sure that the person’s character is what you are really looking for so you can protect your heart.

What is your favorite song?

My current favorite song is Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles

Who are your music inspirations?

Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish because they are all powerful confident women who write incredible music.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans to be?

I love them and that I promise that my music will be authentic to my feelings and journey in the moment, so they will have a glimpse into my diary.

Are you planning any upcoming tours?

No not yet. Right now, I want to write a few more songs and find my sound and in the future, I would love to consider doing a tour.

How do you find time to write music while acting?

Well, sometimes it’s challenging, but when I am inspired, I could run to the studio after a 9 and a half hour day on set and spend another 4-5 hours writing music. You find the energy and time when you have passion for what you do.

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

To go for their dreams, and take risks even though that can be very scary. I fight internally with myself about facing my fears and putting myself out there, and it’s what we should all do to live our best lives.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

That I have 3 sisters, 2 dogs and a turtle, and I am a huge animal lover.

Who helped or inspired you to accomplish your dream as a singer?

That’s an easy question. As soon as I met Francis Galluccio and Peter Zizzo, it all fell into place. I knew I wanted to create music, but they heard me, and collaborated with me, and taught me everything about songwriting and the process of creating something close to my heart.

What are some things you would want your fans to know about you?

That I struggle with similar things as they do at 13 years old, and that we are all in this journey together, towards self discovery and confidence and limiting the negative voices in our heads.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to collaborate on a song together?

Billie Eilish for sure. She’s so herself, and it would be crazy to collaborate with her in any way.

Why do you think social media is so important for music industry?

I think social media is important because it’s a way to share your music with your fans and the world, and to stay connected to the people you look up to as well, and learn from them.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

I would love to be on Broadway one day. I just went to New York for the first time, and was so inspired by the incredible talent I saw. I would love to combine acting and singing on a daily basis the way they do, and getting that immediate feedback from an audience. It was exhilarating.
