Hey Amya! So excited to be chatting with you! You have music coming out soon! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to this summer?
My supporters can look forward to my growth this summer. Just seeing me grow and face the obstacles of life. I’m more than happy to have them along this journey with me.
What does it feel like to be releasing your own original music?
It feels amazing! I love to say it’s life imitating art because most of my music results in experiences from myself or my peers.
Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?
God and my mom of course, but I want to also thank the people who were on their assignments by letting me go through situations to help others. I think back on experiences and I always say to myself I would handle that totally different now, which makes me proud because that means I’m evolving which I never want to stop doing.
What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?
What makes people who support me different from others is I feel as though I help them find their confidence in themselves or in anything they want to do. They get inspired and feel as though their ready to take on world with their creativeness, that makes my heart smile eternally.
What are three words you would use to describe your fans?
BOLD, CREATIVE, PASSIONATE
What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?
I always want my message towards my supporters to be you can do anything you put your mind to. You DO have a purpose and a calling over your life. Keep the faith and work hard. I always want my supporters to be able to relate to me. Just for them to know I’m just like them, I do get sad, I do have crushes, and I take tests in school just like they do. Just let them know they have somebody to be there for them on any aspect.
Do you have any pre-show rituals that help you get pumped up to meet your supporters?
Yes! I’m a faith-based person so before I perform, record my music, or even engage with people I pray and meditate. I get really quiet and distant so I can focus on giving my all and great energy to them. Then, afterwards it’s like a ritual for my team and I to go get Chipotle. I literally do that after I leave the studio.
Are you planning any shows to promote your new music?
Lately, I’ve been only performing one new single, but the rest of the new music is in the works or in the tuck. Don’t worry new project soon!
What is it like performing in front of your fans?
Its literally the best feeling ever. I always get this level of confidence that just fuels whoever is watching. It’s like a domino affect but we don’t fall, we stand up. It’s literally one of my favorite things to do ever.
What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?
Education! Education is key. I always tell people that I never want to stop learning so I can help change the world. You can ask anyone who’s encountered with me. I’m always listening for more advice or stories. I love stories! I’ll try anything well not new foods, but if I can learn how to fly a plane, I’ll try. I sit and talk to my grandma and gain gems so I can pass them down to others. I try and gain wisdom in all of my days.
What’s something your fans don’t know about you?
I get really shy. Amya and Amya Roxxstar are totally two different people. I mean I’m myself all around, but I get really shy, but when I’m on the stage I’m in my prime.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
CONFIDENCE
Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?
Yes! Okay so lately I’ve been the biggest Smino fan. I think he’s so dope. Also, Rihanna of course. Lastly, Ryan Destiny. If I can sit, talk, and learn from them, I’ll feel complete. My fingers are crossed and I’m speaking it into existence though.
Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists like yourself?
Social media is important because that’s where most of our peers spend their time. I just think we must have a balance and not get so caught up into it. I’ve seen how detrimental it can be to some people. I do love how we can connect and gain new opportunities from it. Also, I love how we can raise awareness to situations faster than ever.
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
Biggest dream and goals right now is to impact people and inspire people to be the greatest version of themselves. Help them discover their life purpose.
