Hey Alyssa! You knew you wanted to be an actress since a young age. What would you say brought on your passion for acting?

I have always wanted to be an actress since I was about six years old. I would watch movies and TV shows and I thought it was so fascinating how they could get into character and show such powerful emotion. Acting is not just about playing a character. It’s about being that character and putting yourself in their shoes.

What is one movie that has greatly influenced your life?

One movie that has greatly influenced my life is Back to the Future because, In Back To The Future, Doc Brown never gave up on his vision. “The flux capacitor.” I never gave up on my vision to become an actress, make a difference, and to change lives.“ One inspirational quote from that movie that has always stuck with me is “ Your future hasn’t been written yet…so make it a good one.” -Doc Brown.

What has been your favorite acting role to date?

My favorite acting role to date would have to be my first ever role playing Hella in the movie Toll House Horrors. The cast and crew were very nice and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such great and talented actors and actresses.

What would be your dream acting role?

My dream acting role would be getting a co-star role in a comedy or drama TV show. When I watch a TV show it looks like they are not just co-workers they are family and I would love to have that experience.

Is there anyone you are dying to work/collaborate with in your acting career?

One person that I would love to work/collaborate with would be actress Mariska Hargitay. The reason I would love to work with her is she is an incredible actress, advocate, and producer and I know I could learn a lot from her!

Do you have any projects in the works you can tell us about?

I have two projects in the works one of them is a Feature Film which will be coming out soon. I also have a reoccurring role in a TV mini-series and that will resume filming after COVID-19 and I am really excited about that.

If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? (If helpful, it can be someone else’s quote: Are there any quotes you think of often or live your life by?)

If I could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it and get a message out to millions or billions of people it would say, “No one can take away your pain, so don’t let anyone take away your happiness.” -Mariska Hargitay. This is one of my favorite quotes and I think it sends a really good message. If you are hurting or went through a traumatic experience, no one can take away the pain you are feeling so you should not let anyone take away your happiness. Always be happy.

What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?

I love blowing out candles and smelling the aroma of them for hours. I know this is very weird but I find the smell calming.

What is your current go-to song?

My current go-to song is “Meant to Live” by Zachary William. It is my go-to song because I believe it is an inspirational song. You are meant to live and be alive in this world and you should keep fighting no matter what. One of the lyrics in the song is “We were meant to live for so much more.”

What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in acting or singing? What advice should they ignore?

A piece of advice I would give is to never give up. You may get rejected more times than you will get accepted and you should always keep going and continue pursuing your acting or singing career. You may get ten auditions and only book one out of the ten or zero but you should not let that stop you. You are smart and talented and you should always remember that. One-piece of advice that you should ignore is if a casting director says that you can not make it as an actor or a singer you should not listen to them.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?

When I feel overwhelmed or unfocused I try to go to a quiet room. If I am onset or a quiet room is not available I will sometimes go for a nice walk outside or listen to some quiet music. I may even sometimes play my guitar or study my lines to help me when I feel overwhelmed.

What social media platform do you use most? Where can people find out what projects you have going on?

The social media platform that I use the most is Instagram (@therealalyssaoster). Everyone can find out what projects I have going on by checking my social media and IMDB.

Any last things you’d like to tell your supporters?

I am grateful to all my fans and for all of their support. It means a lot to me and all of you are amazing. I love you all and I hope you all are staying safe and healthy during this time!
