Hey Ali!! So excited to be chatting with you. You just released you new single “Biggest Fan”!! Can you tell us what this song means to you?

Biggest Fan is a celebration of friendship and the healing power that that kind of love can have. It was inspired by my brother, who is my best friend.

How excited were you to get this single out into the world?

I was so excited for this single to be out because it is filled with so much and heart. It’s very special to me and I connect to the whole vibe of the song deeply. I want people to feel that.

Do you have any other release plans for 2020?

My new album in full, Blood, will be released on June 1st. This will be the last release for the year and I’m really grateful that I’ll be able to share it with everyone.

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new music?

I honestly just hope that the music resonates with people. With whatever they’re feeling. I want them to be able to connect and heal. I also am hoping that people who watch my music video for Witness will consider donating to Every Last One–an amazing organization that helps free the thousands of migrant children from the U.S. detention centers.

How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?

I want my relationship with my supporters to be truthful, supportive, inspiring.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

Hmm maybe some of my fans don’t know that I’m vegan.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

I want them to know that they can be themselves, whatever that means to them. And I’m an open book for the most part.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want my message to be that I’m here to connect, heal, and that all of us deserve to be seen and heard. I also feel that my music’s higher purpose to be a channel for that, including supporting that causes I care about by bringing awareness and talking about them/supporting them through my music and relationship to my listeners. I also want them to know that although being bold may sometimes be scary, it is necessary if that’s what you’re feeling.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Freedom.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

It’s important to be able to share and be open. It’s funny cause I’m actually pretty old school and have had to adjust for a while to social media and that part it plays in my music. It’s simply the way things work now and I want to be sharing with people so that we can connect.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

My biggest dream is for my song and video for Witness to raise enough money to free the children from the U.S. detention centers as well as support myself solely through music and creativity. I have a lot, but those are just a couple.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Let’s try to all be better listeners, practice compassion toward ourselves and others, take care of the planet, create justice where there is none, and tap into the creativity which exists in all of us. I hope my album inspires and heals 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us 🙂

Thank you for having me!
