Tell us more about your new single “This Is Me Leaving”!!

“This Is Me Leaving,” is a song about finally knowing your worth and letting go of a person who used to be your everything. I think a lot of the time we talk about what it feels like going through heartbreak, and not about what happens after your heart gets broken enough. It’s usually a lot easier to leave someone when it’s your choice, but when it’s not it can be a lot harder to move on. “This Is Me Leaving,” captures the aftermath of a heartbreak and the feeling of finally moving on.

How excited were you to finally release this single?

I am beyond excited! I wrote this song a while ago and have played it so many times at shows. It’s been a fan favorite for a long time, so I’m thrilled to finally have the studio version be released as well as a music video.

What is the greatest part of being an independent artist?

Getting to personally talk to all of my fans and run my social media. One of the most important things to me is having a relationship with my fans. I love talking to them and thanking them for my love and support every day.

What is the most challenging part?

Finding new and creative ways of getting my music heard in the world. As an independent artist in an industry that is constantly changing, everything is done by yourself. Finding new ways to get my music heard to more people, both fans and people in the industry can be difficult at times.

How do you balance your professional career and private life?

I think the same way anyone would. I have some amazing close friends who support me with my music whole heartedly, and when work can feel overwhelming sometimes, they’re always there for me. Having people in my life who care for me personally and not just about my music has always been important to me. I think my biggest trick to balance is keeping my personal life private, and my career up for anyone who wants to watch.

If you could share the stage with any artist who would it be and why?

Absolutely without a doubt Taylor Swift. I’ve loved her since Tim McGraw came out and sharing a stage with her would be such an amazing dream.
