Hey Jackie! We are so excited about your new single “Romanticize”. How excited are you that this song is finally out into the world?
I am over the moon excited! I was ready to release this song the day we wrote it and have been dancing in my car to it ever since so I’m very happy other people can join me now!
Where did the inspiration for the song come from?
It came from a song at grocery store reminding me of someone from my past. I started getting lost in a daydream about him when I snapped back into reality and was like what?? He wasn’t even that great?? I realized I have a tendency to romanticize things from the past and thought that word would be a great song title.
Any fun moments while creating/recording the song?
My co-writers on this song are two of my favorite people on the planet, Chase Martinez & Jeff Carl. We were dancing around the room the whole we were writing it because the track was just so fun and we were so excited about this one from the very beginning.
What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?
I hope they love it as much as I do! But more so, I hope people can connect to it because I feel like it’s a theme me and a lot of my friends have been through.
What’s the process of writing one of your songs?
I usually start with the melody. I hum until I find something I like and then I choose a story from my life that I think fits the sound. For this one though I started with the concept, both the story and the title, and I found the melody that went best with it!
