Hey Xavier, So excited to be chatting with you! How’ve you been?

I’ve been really good actually, I have been really busy as of late with filming but really good.

You’ve definitely been busy!! What was your favorite thing you did this year?

It’s definitely putting together my new series “That Kid”. We have been filming since July this year and I’m so ready to get it out into the world. I’m so excited for my fans to see it.

What has been your reaction to all the success you’ve been having?

Well it’s been quite crazy actually. I’m obviously not huge but since announcing the series I’ve received so much great feedback. People have been messaging me saying how excited they are about it, it’s just so crazy to think that people are actually excited to see it. I haven’t had such a big response on anything I’ve ever done before.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

“Gratitude”. I’m so grateful for everything. None of this would even be possible without them. If they didn’t watch my videos this series wouldn’t be possible, if they didn’t like my pictures I wouldn’t be able to do what I do, if they didn’t follow me I wouldn’t be able to get my message out there. I’m so grateful for everything they have done for me and have allowed me to do.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

That it’s ok to come up to me and talk to me. I’m literally exactly the same in real life as I am online. It’s funny a couple months ago I was in Kmart with my best friend Andy and she pointed out to me a little girl who was taking pictures of me. I don’t think they know that it’s just as crazy for me when they come up to me as it is for them.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?

Don’t be afraid.  Do what makes you happy! I know a lot of young kids want to start a Youtube channel but are affraid of getting bullied and made fun of. My advice, is that there are always going to be those people out there who want to tear you down but if your doing what you love, block them out.

What led you to social media?

What led me to social media was originally my passion for music, and that’s still my main priority. I wanted to share my talent with the world. I have since branched out into beauty which has been amazing but music was and is what led me to social media.

What are the pros and cons of sharing your life on social media?

Well the pros are obviously having people all over the world who watch you and care about you, having a voice and being able to share what you believe. But some of the cons are definitely hate. People constantly wanting to know what’s happening. I mention in the first episode of my series, “That Kid” a public friendship I had which fell apart and how I couldn’t really move on because of how many messages I was receiving. It definitely doesn’t help when your trying to move on from something so horrible.

You have a new series coming out soon!! Can you spill any details about the new series?

I can’t spill too much but it’s not like the traditional “reality” show. There are a lot of sit down chats and every episode is completely different. For example episode 1 is called “Friendships & Bullying”, and episode 2 is called “The World Of Beauty”. They are both about completely different things. That’s all I can say at this point.

What led you to creating this series?

Hurt. At the time I decided I was going to make this series I was going through a really bad friendship breakup and I just wanted to talk about it. So I was like, you know what, stuff it, lets make this into a series. I just want to kind of open a conversation about things like bullying, boys in makeup etc.

What do you want the message of the series to be?

That it’s ok to be yourself. If there’s something different about you, that’s ok. I also want people to start a conversation about the type of things I talk about and take action. Every school I’ve gone to I’ve been bullied and schools fail to do anything about it. I want people to know that it’s ok to be you.

Do you have a favorite episode of the series?

I’m not sure actually.  They are all so different. If I’m really feeling makeup and beauty that day then it will be “The World Of Beauty” if I’m feeling music it will be “Singing Is Healing”. It’s different everyday.

Any other fun details you can tell us about the new show?

I can’t reveal too much more. I can say there a lot of cameos for example Miss World Australia 2017 ( Esma Voloder ) makes a short appearance. My very talented best friend Andy B ( @andybonzonn ) makes multiple cameos. There are a lot of little cameos from friends and family but I don’t want to spill too much. I tend to run my mouth a bit much

You have more projects coming out soon as well. Can you spill any details about the new projects?

Well I can’t spill too much but I did just release a “That Kid” merch line on xaviergowiemerch.com which is pretty exciting except for the fact that the website crashed on me. 10% of the proceeds from the collection will go to the charity “Bully Zero”. I am also working on recording and writing music. You get a sneek peak of my debut song in episode 1 of the series so make sure to not miss that. Of course the series coming out December 1st right through to January 19th 2020 is exciting but I can’t talk about anything else at this point.

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview 🙂
